However, clause 4.2, Documentation Requirements, sub-clause 4.2.1, General, of the standard states:

"The Quality Management System documentation shall include:

a) Documented procedures required by this International Standard.
b) Documents required by the organization to ensure the effective planning, operation, and control of its processes"

A notation under this sub-clause further states:

"The extent of the quality management system documentation shall be dependent on the following:

a) Size and type of organization
b) Complexity and interaction if the processes
c) Competence of the personnel"
