MODULE FOUR - AUDITORS & ISO DOCUMENTATION
How Auditors Use ISO Documentation
ISO registrars will review an organizations Level I and II
documentation before they even visit the site. Level I documentation must
meet the requirements of the standard for a Quality Manual and registrars
will not conduct any form of audit if it does not meet these requirements.
As a general rule, Level I documentation must point to appropriate Level
II documentation.
ISO registrars review the Level II documents as part of their
documentation review prior to visiting a site and develop their audit plans
from these procedures. The completeness of this level of documentation has
a direct effect on how the auditor will conduct his/her audit.
It impacts:
| |
What processes they look
at in the organization |
| |
How deep they dig into the processes |
| |
How much detail they check |
| |
What kinds of questions they
ask |
