MODULE FOUR - Auditors and ISO Documentation
What Auditors Look For in ISO Documentation
Quality Management System
General Requirements
ISO registrars will look to see that an organization
has documentation sufficient to support a Quality Management System (QMS)
in achieving the goals set out in the Quality Policy and the organizations
stated quality objectives. This can range from a simple two or three volume
set of ISO documents for a small company, to a multi-volume set required
by a large, complex organization.
Documentation Requirements
There is no simple formula, but the documentation must
be capable of supporting and detailing the QMS in place in the company, and
should include the following:
| a) |
Documentation of a quality policy, including quality
objectives, and a quality manual. |
| b) |
Documented procedures specifically required by ISO
9001:2000. |
| c) |
Documentation required to ensure the effective planning,
operation, and control of the organizations processes. |
| d) |
Quality records specifically required by ISO 9001:2000. |
